Buckaroo Bobbins' Mantelet (mant'let) Short Cape Pattern
Short capes were common from the 1830's but reached their height of popularity and decoation in the 1890's.Huge sleeves made jackets an impossle fashion. Women wore multiple layers of pantaloons and petticoats under their skirts, but the close silhoutte above the waist allowed only camisole, corset, and corset cover. The ladies were cold above the waist, thus the short cape. Each pattern package includes two syles. |
