Description

Dogie Jones
Ridin' for the Brand

Christian men and women enjoy playing cowboy and competing in Cowboy Action Shooting too! The challenge is to play the game and bring praise and honor to the name of our Lord. "Ridin' for the Brand" is an accumulation of short stories addressing a few of the issues confronting cowboy competitors. Some of these issues are addressed directly, some indirectly with a story, but always with a light toward living our faith and bringing praise and honor to our Lord. Dogie places a high value upon the truth and straight talk. These characteristics are visible in his writing.

Carl (Dogie) and his wife Norma (Prissy Pearlene) are avid competitors in Cowboy Action Shooting and Cowboy Fast Draw. He is twice retired, first from law enforcement and second from the ministry.

Dogie, as he is known in cowboy circles, has turned from "preachin" to being a "teller of stories". Dogie holds Cowboy Church at Cowboy matches, always with a story with a biblical twist. He explains that "The greatest story ever told is still the story of Jesus. We just wrap it in a cowboy hat and six guns."
NOTE: Dogie now has a virtual Cowboy Church on line. Check it out: www.cowboypreacher.com
