This a 2 piece badge. The top piece is an eagle with a pin back. The lower portion is a small shield with a 5 point star inside a circle. The word "Marshal" is above the star with the words "Dodge City" below. The badge is silver in color. This is a new imported item.
A Little Bit of History
Buffalo City, later known as Dodge City was known to be one of the toughest towns on the frontier. In its early days, Dodge City was not so tough. Dodge City incorporated November 2, 1875 and it was in the first year that Dodge City's reputation grew. From this reputation law and order began to take shape.
Some of the more famous lawmen to walk the streets of Dodge City were Charlie Bassett, William B. "Bat" Masterson, and Wyatt Earp.
